The Inbox
Every new Video from your Channels waits in the Inbox, newest first, until you watch it or Archive it. Shown here with all of them, watched ones too.
- 1
Your Categories
File Channels under Categories you make, and see how many Videos wait in each.
- 2
The count that falls
The Inbox counts what's new. Each Video you watch or Archive takes one off.
- 3
Watched or Archived
Mark a Video watched, or Archive the ones you'll skip. Either way it leaves the Inbox.
- 4
Picks up again
A Video you stopped partway shows how far you got, and plays on from there.
- 5
Stamped when watched
Watched Videos are stamped with the day you watched them.
Watching
Open a Video and it plays in Chanbox, with what you'll do next right under it.
- 1
Plays in the app
Videos play right in Chanbox. Links to YouTube open in your browser.
- 2
Mark watched
A Video is marked watched when it ends, or whenever you say so.
- 3
On to the next
Go straight to the next unwatched Video in the Inbox.
Only yours
Nothing gets in that you didn't choose, and what you've watched stays on your Mac.
- Bring your Channels
- Paste a @handle, a channel link or a video link, or import subscriptions.csv from Google Takeout.
- No algorithm
- No recommendations and no Shorts feed. A Channel's Shorts wait on their own tab, never among its Videos.
- New Videos when you ask
- Refresh checks your Channels for new Videos and Shorts. Nothing runs behind your back.
- No account
- Subscribe, Refresh and watch without signing in to Google or anything else.
- On your Mac
- Your Channels and what you've watched stay in Chanbox on your Mac, and nowhere else.
